Our team is currently traversing across Lombok and its surrounding islands in search of some newly built hidden gems, and Villa Luna Lombok is certainly making our must-stay list. Located on the shimmering seashores of Kuta Mandalika, Lombok this three-bedroom villa is an absolute score and perfect start to our week-long trip.

Villa Layout

Villa Luna Lombok boasts a spacious layout of three king-sized bedrooms with private ensuite bathrooms (one of which has a soak-worthy terrazzo bathtub), a 12-metre long swimming pool with a sunken lounge and bar area, plus a team of staff more than willing to assist you during your stay.

Breakfast is Served

Promptly served at 7:30am (just as we requested) was a scrumptious breakfast complimentary of the villa. We would usually let the images speak for themselves. However, the food was just that good we can’t help but mention the fresh pastries, seasonal fruit and eggs made any way we liked. Most of our team enjoyed an omelette which was flavoured with a sprinkling of vegetables and sided with sausages, whilst we also tried the boiled eggs and serving of sunny side up – all were cooked to perfection and served nice and hot.

Taste Testing Kuta’s “Eat Street”

Formally known as Jalan Raya Kuta, we like to start trends early and are donning this main strip Kuta Mandalika’s “Eat Street”. Lined with western style trendy cafes, we could quickly see the restaurant boom that is creating a happening scene for holiday makers and expats alike. Some of our favourite from our time here are;

  • Kenza Café & Restaurant – for all the typical nutritious café treats
  • Bamba – must try the mahi mahi! Their unique take on mixing modern influences with a traditional Lombok flare made our dining experience a real treat.
  • Markisa – this Mediterranean gem serves some of the largest haloumi portions we have ever seen, but you won’t hear us complaining.

Coconuts and Sunsets

Being that it’s our first day, we were itching with excitement to get out of the villa and explore. We arranged a driver through Villa Luna Lombok, which you can book ahead with our concierge team when booking with Ministry of Villas. They are very well-spoken in English and have excellent knowledge of the roads and back streets to get you to the best places on the island.

We found ourselves beach hopping our way along the South-Eastern coastline from secret spots to well-known beaches like Elizabeth Beach and Tanjung Aan Beach. Each came with a surfer or two bobbing up and down in search of the next best wave, whilst we stayed dry on shore and enjoy the bartering with local sellers that came in their troves. Selling a fabulous array of hand-made and locally source fabrics, throw rugs and island style jewelry, our team has all come home with something that took our fancy.

The Perfect Starting Point

We have found our ideal starting point for a holiday to Lombok. Kuta Mandalika is the ideal choice being that it is just 25-minutes drive from the international airport, offers a great array of surf breaks, stunning sunsets and “Eat Street” (A.K.A. Jalan Raya Kuta) with a fabulous array of restaurants to try. We recommend staying a few days before heading off to our amazing villas in Selong or Gili Gede.
