Deck the halls with boughs of frangipani! As the year draws to a close, it’s time for another tropical Christmas on the Island of the Gods. From family friendly shindigs to trendy pool parties and delectable fine dining experiences, here’s how to spend Christmas in Bali in 2018.

S.O.S – Sunset on Seminyak

W Bali

W Bali’s Sunday brunch is epic on a regular old Sunday… so how about a Super Bruch, W style to celebrate Christmas in Bali? The W is hosting two Super Brunches on Christmas Day, one at their beachfront Starfish Bloo venue and one at the trendy Fire restaurant. Kids will be entertained with activities including face painting, arts and crafts, movies and more. A little elf tells us you can also expect a visit from Santa himself.

Milk & Madu

Known for their irresistible breakfasts, yummy pizzas and family friendly flair, Canggu staple Milk & Madu is hosting a sweet holiday bash for the whole family. On December 24, Milk & Madu will offer Christmas themed arts and crafts and face painting for the kiddos and live music (including holiday medleys!) by Valensia & The Bray. You can also pose for photos with Santa – make sure you’re there around 6:30pm for the photo ops!

Sundays Beach Club

Have a very Bali Christmas – on the beach! Offering one of the most beautiful beachfront settings on the island, Sundays Beach Club is hosting a dreamy Christmas on the Beach event with a special Christmas menu and beats from DJ Kacir starting at 4pm. Kids station, free water sports and cosy sunset bonfires make this one of the best ways to spend Christmas in Bali with the family.

Finns Recreation Club

With its water park, bowling alley, multiple restaurants, spa and more, Finns Recreation Club is a real one-stop entertainment complex for families. On Christmas Day, the venue is hosting a hearty Christmas buffet lunch with the option of extending the merry making to the pool by purchasing a “Lunch and Splash” package. The menu includes all the holiday staples, including roasted turkey, old fashioned ham and a chocolatey Christmas log.

Ku De Ta

Ku De Ta’s annual Christmas bash is one of the highlights of the season. On Christmas Day, the iconic beach club is hosting a four-course Christmas Family Day Lunch with live entertainment and plenty of fun activities for the kids. Of course, Santa will also make an appearance. Live music and DJ sets from some of the best acts in Bali will help get the party started in style. This being one of the hottest tickets in town, lunch reservations are essential.

Xmas by the Pool

Azul Beach Club

Azul Beach Club’s Christmas BBQ Brunch will feature seasonal barbecue specials like coriander cured roasted lambs leg, roasted honey muster turkey, Christmas pudding… hungry yet? Besides the mouthwatering cuisine, beautiful bamboo architecture and poolside access, guests are treated to live entertainment and fun children’s activities.

Ulu Cliffhouse

Recently ranked as one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world by Condé Nast Travaller, Ulu Cliffhouse is putting on a five-day holiday fiesta to wrap up the year in style. Ulu’s Tropi Christmas will feature DJ sets and visits from Santa as well as hosting an artisanal market (December 22) and a poolside barbecue (December 26). If you’re bringing the kids, it’s best the head over between December 23-25 with a line up including kids crafts, Christmas movies, visits from Santa and a festive set menu.

Cocoon Beach Club

Cocoon Beach Club is the perfect venue for celebrating a tropical poolside Christmas in Bali. Enjoy a special Christmas menu and work up an appetite with a leisurly dip in the pool. Lunch is a family friendly affair with fun activities and presents from the Cocoon elves. During dinner, you can groove along to DJs spinning at the decks. As is true for most Christmas events in Bali, booking ahead is essential.

Folk Pool & Gardens

Folk Pool & Gardens is home to one of the most photogenic pools on the island and come Christmas, the folks at Folk are hosting a laidback Christmas cookout by the pool. Chef Roy Qira and his crew will fire up the grill at live cooking stations with chilled cocktails to cool you off in the tropical heat. If you stick around till sunset, you might even catch Santa himself chilling by the pool.

Manarai Beach House

Manarai Beach House, the most exciting new beach club on the island, is throwing a very beachy Christmas at their picture-perfect beachfront venue in Nusa Dua. Park yourself by the pool or laze on a daybed right on the sand and indulge in an innovative feast prepared by Manarai’s Michelin-trained chef Chef Stefan Poyet and ISMAYA’s Corporate Chef Philip Mimbimi. A mix of Christmas classics and fresh island flavours, the lavish menu includes roast turkey, grilled squid, paella and more.

A Christmas choir of carol singers will be present throughout the season, with Santa Claus making a special appearance on Christmas Day.

Come Christmas, guests are treated to a six-course Asian inspired degustation menu featuring tuna tartar, fresh scallops, foie gras… and so much more. Seasalt

Celebrate the festive season in style at Alila Seminyak’s beautiful beachfront venue, Seasalt. This Coastal Christmas feast features a four-course set menu with a scrumptious wagyu striploin as the formidable main course. Naturally, the meal will finish with Christmas bread pudding and some eggnog. Local talent Thearosa will offer soulful interpretations of classic Christmas carols and Seasalt’s Santa is also set to make an appearance. If you prefer a relaxed brunch spread, Seasalt is also offering a sophisticated Christmas brunch on Christmas Day, starting from noon onwards.
