But you know what they say about all work and no play… So every now and then, we get to take a break and really let our hair down. Sometimes, we’re lucky enough to stay in places like Villa Anam.

Room to Spare
Hidden in central Seminyak, Villa Anam’s entrance is decorated with marigold blooms, with a Hindu shrine offering an added sense of calm. After taking the grand tour of the villa and choosing our bedrooms (all well-appointed with flatscreen TVs and ensuite bathrooms), it was time to get down to business: enjoying the villa to the fullest. It was great having this much room to spread out, with one group taking to the ping-pong table, a couple of us lounging by the pool and the rest having fun with board games in one of the two living rooms – for a villa this grand, one is simply not enough!
Be Our Guest
Though there are countless great restaurants close by – we’re practically around the corner from Seminyak’s famous Eat Street – it feels like a real luxury to be able to dine in at the villa, especially when you’re staying with such a big group. We were 22 people dining in total! As was only fitting for our relaxed group stay, our dinner was served family style, with huge dishes of grilled chicken, mie goreng, vegetable curry and more placed to the centre of the table. The next morning, breakfast was another relaxed affair with fresh fruit juices, coffee, tropical fruit, toast and croissants fuelling us for the day ahead.
Silver Screen Magic
From the rooftop terrace to the private spa, there is much to love about Villa Anam. The undeniable highlight, however, has got to be the cinema room. This is probably the best private cinema on the whole island! The room is soundproof and fitted with cushy daybeds and plush pillows, letting you really recline back in style. There’s a full-wall projector screen and surround sound and even 3D goggles are provided! You can’t help but feel like a VIP while enjoying a movie night in your very own private cinema – in case you were wondering, our flick of choice was Peter Rabbit.
In the Heart of the Action
After experiencing the villa first hand, it’s clear that Villa Anam is the perfect hybrid villa. On one hand, this is a thoroughbred destination villa: there is so much to do in the villa itself – Movie nights! Mani-pedis! Ping-pong tournaments! – that you could easily spend your entire holiday without leaving the villa once. But rather than being hidden off in the jungle or resting on a remote beach, Villa Anam offers a prime location in the heart of the action. The villa is located down a private lane together with Villa Tangram, Villa Abakoi and Villa Tiga Puluh which is great news if you’re looking for more rooms to accommodate an even bigger group. From here, you can stroll over to Seminyak’s famous Eat Street in 10 minutes – good luck tearing yourself away from the villa first!
