Just as the name states, (“selo”: relax, or to slow down in Indonesian), we are welcomed into a soul-soothing ambience of which boasts panoramic views of the turquoise ocean and stunning streamlined architectures that seamlessly blends into the mountainside. Where is Villa Samsara, Selong Belanak?
Located just an hours drive from Lombok’s International Airport, Selong Belanak is the tropical palm tree paradise with a turquoise picture-perfect background of Indian Ocean that you have been yearning for. We had heard of this small slice of heaven for some time and truly needed to visit here to experience the awe-inspiring views we had heard about. If you would prefer to come via fast boat, the nearest ports are Lembar Port or Gili Gede.

Room for Entertaining
We were fortunate enough to stay in Villa Samsara – a five-bedroom palatial villa with a note worthy outdoor space. We choose to pull back all of the sliding doors to invite the cooling breeze from the nearby ocean to flow throughout the villa. To one side of the 19m infinity pool is a chefs grade barbecue area and covered alfresco style lounge. To the other end of the swimming pool is a swim up pool bar, ideal for spending care days in the villa with your entourage snapping those Instagram worthy moments.

Just when you thought we were done, Villa Samsara offers an unbeatable array of amenities both privately in the villa as well as part of the Selong Selo complex. Your family will be more than entertained with the in-villa gym – well equipped for a sweat evoking workout; a trampoline for the kids to bounce and play; a rooftop deck for enjoying sunset cocktails; a sleek and staged island bench with wine fridges for post-dinner socialising; as well as a second-floor outdoor heated jacuzzi with sea views; plus a media room with Netflix access to browse the latest blockbusters.

Featuring fabulous onsite dining at Aura Restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner all feature familiar dishes with an exotic twist and soul-soothing spa offering treatments in either the resorts spa canopy or in the privacy of your own villa. If you are travelling with little tuckers, the Coconut Club (kids club) is perfect for the kids to immerse themselves in fun and play.

We are so blessed to be able to traverse across the island of Lombok to personally experience and inspect all of our newly added villas and old favourites. Villa Samsara at Selong Selo was a dreamy experience with panoramic views I will never forget. Though our time here has come to an end, we will certainly be back.
