Checking into Villa Tiga Puluh is always a pleasure. We have stayed at this Seminyak villa many times over and the experience has never been anything short of sensational.
Our latest stay kicked off with the villa’s gracious staff welcoming us into the villa, serving us refreshing drinks and an assortment of Indonesian treats as we made ourselves comfortable in the lounge. Sipping our drinks and gazing over the pool, it was easy to remember why Villa Tiga Puluh remains one of our all-time favourites in Bali.
Beautiful Balinese Design
From its breezy interiors to its lush gardens, Villa Tiga Puluh has the It factor – that certain something that makes your whole being relax. The villa makes a great first impression: the first thing you see as you step inside is the 20-metre-long pool and the dreamy bale that frames it. Overall, it’s just a very easy property to love.
The open-air living room connects to the garden and offers an inspiring mix of Balinese architecture, Indonesian artefacts and vibrant modern art. These elements work beautifully together, and the space exudes a great energy. We love the details, too – the vintage cabinet stocked with white and blue China is a beautiful addition to the dining area.
While the main living areas are open plan, the villa also has a separate media room that’s completely enclosed and air-conditioned. This makes for a great refuge when you want to escape the tropical heat or when the kids just want to be entertained.
Superstar Staff
From butlers to housekeepers and gardeners, Villa Tiga Puluh has a full team on hand to ensure your stay is five stars all the way. While Bali is very safe, it’s also nice to know that the villa has security guards on duty during the night. The staff is incredibly attentive, and you can ask them to organise day trips or any other extra services you might like – which is exactly what we did.
Looking to relax to the max, we requested massages at the villa. We were a larger group, so the staff arranged for a professional team to come in and set up massage beds individually in different bedrooms. The villa has seven spacious bedrooms so there was plenty of space to go about. This meant we could each enjoy massages in the privacy of our rooms and simultaneously too, which was a very nice touch.
Fabulous Food
Besides doubling as our private spa, Villa Tiga Puluh almost felt like our very own restaurant. The villa’s chef prepared wonderful meals which we enjoyed gathered around the long dining table looking over the pool and garden.
A lovely breakfast is included in the daily rates. For lunch and dinner, you can order from the Western, Asian, vegetarian or children’s menu, though the chef is happy to discuss special requests as well. As you order from a priced menu, planning your meals is very straightforward.
The skilled staff and the beautiful setting make Villa Tiga Puluh ideal for marking a special occasion. You might even say that special family moments are ingrained in the villa’s DNA. The owners originally designed the property to celebrate their own 30th wedding anniversary – Tiga Puluh means thirty in Indonesian.
Staying in Seminyak
With its tropical gardens and Balinese design, Villa Tiga Puluh could easily be a remote hideaway nestled in a quiet village. In reality, the villa sits in a prime locale in one of Bali’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.
The villa is tucked in a cul-de-sac just off Jalan Drupadi, a 5–10-minute jaunt from Seminyak’s famous Eat Street. It’s a nice long street with paved sidewalks (not always the case in Bali!) so we found ourselves walking to most places. Overall, it’s just a great location to be in, with countless restaurants, shops and spas within a moment’s walk.
