Whether you’re planning an extended family holiday or are due for a corporate retreat, forget about everyone bunking out in their own hotel room and then meeting up in the lobby. Nothing helps bring a huge group together quite like an epic villa stay. That’s exactly what our team experienced during our recent stay at Impiana Seminyak.

12 Bedrooms in Seminyak

Sitting pretty in Bali’s sought-after Seminyak neighbourhood, Impiana Seminyak is a villa resort mixing traditional Balinese touches with contemporary boutique chic. The resort’s well-designed villas are ideal for hosting bigger groups, with connecting garden gates between the villas allowing guests to book up to 12-bedroom combinations.

Our team checked into an eight-bedroom villa – this was made up of 2 x three-bedroom villas and 1 x two-bedroom villa. Each villa comes with its own pool, living areas and gardens. The connecting garden gates allowed for easy internal access between the villas.

Perfect for Big Groups

Finding a large villa to host a big group in Seminyak can be a real mission but luckily, Impiana Seminyak ticks all the boxes. All the beds in our eight-bedroom villa could be set up as king-sized beds or two singles as needed. This is great when you’re travelling with friends or co-workers like we were and don’t want to share beds – it’s also fantastic if you’re hosting a retreat. (Side note: the resort’s Prana Spa has a yoga studio with enough room for 20 yogis!)

Though the larger villas are created by combining smaller villas, each with their own living areas, there is more than enough room to host the whole group in one space. Dining tables can be set up in one of the living pavilions, allowing the whole group to dine and mingle together. And on that note…

Dining at Impiana Seminyak

Every time our team stays in a villa (whether that’s a beachfront stunner in Lombok or a “floating villa” in Sri Lanka), mealtimes are always one of the undeniable highlights. After all, dining in a beautifully set up villa with a dedicated team of staff looking after you is one of life’s great luxuries.

At Impiana Seminyak, we enjoyed a lavish barbecue feast by the pool. Two round dining tables were set up in one of the living pavilions and a team of chefs arrived to prepare our meal in the villa. Having this level of service and delicious food prepared just for your group is something you just don’t get when dining in a crowded restaurant.

Overall, Impiana Seminyak well and truly excels in its culinary offerings. In addition to elaborate in-villa dining, the resort is also home to two restaurants. The ornately designed Prana specialises in authentic Indian cuisine, while Impiana’s new restaurant, Oswego, has a more contemporary look and serves Asian and Western dishes. Guests staying in the villas can opt to have their breakfast served in the villa (which is what we did) or head to Oswego to tuck into the buffet spread!

Prana Spa

Yet another highlight of Impiana Seminyak is the resort’s fabulous Prana Spa. Designed in the ornate style of a Moroccan riad, the spa is regularly ranked as one of the best spas in Seminyak. The Instagram-ready interiors are only one piece of the puzzle – the massages, Ayurvedic treatments, facials and beauty rituals offered here are of an incredibly high standard.

Exploring Seminyak

Impiana Seminyak offers a complimentary shuttle service so getting around the area is a breeze. It’s about a five-minute walk to the main street of Jalan Raya Seminyak where you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to dining and shopping. Some of our favourite places to dine on this lively strip include Jackson Lily’s for fusion cuisine and Ryoshi for Japanese food and jazz nights.

Located practically around the corner is another place of interest: Starbucks Reserve Dewata. This “coffee sanctuary” is not your average coffee shop – this is the only Starbucks in the world with its own coffee farm on the premises. Besides the miniature coffee farm, this flagship outlet also comes with a coffee seedling nursery and a zoetrope demonstrating the maturing of coffee beans into blooming trees. Needless to say, it’s something of a must-visit for coffee lovers.

Staying in Impiana Seminyak with the whole group was just what our team needed to refresh and recharge before heading off on our next adventure. If you’re planning a Bali holiday with a large group, nothing beats everyone staying under the same roof.
